National research reveals that Littles are more likely to show positive
behaviors in school and at home than children not matched with a Big.
Little Brothers and Little Sisters who meet with their Bigs regularly
are:
- 46% less likely to start using drugs and 27% less likely
to start drinking
- 52% less likely to skip a day of school and 37% less likely to skip
a class
- One-third less likely to hit someone
- More trusting of their parents or guardians, less likely to lie to
them, and feel more supported and less criticized by their peers and
friends.
